Dancing Chaos
MA Textile Design
Royal College of Art 2025
Guided and mentored by
Richard McVetis
Dancing Chao emerges from the heartbeat of India’s flower markets—vivid theatres of scent, sound, and color where chaos finds its own rhythm. Amid garlands strung by hand and petals crushed underfoot, the project traces the choreography of devotion, labor, and fleeting beauty. Through workshops, research, and material exploration, it translates this sensory turbulence into form—capturing the pulse of movement within stillness, and the poetry of repetition within impermanence.
Rooted in observation and process, the work unfolds through intuition rather than control—allowing materials to breathe, unravel, and discover their own rhythm. Each exploration reveals how texture, color, and gesture evoke time, touch, and transience. Dancing Chao stands as a meditation on fragile resilience and the quiet choreography embedded in everyday ritual.
